Cole St Commons
Healthcare & Essential workers housing community
J.A.C. Building & Development Group is serving as Construction Manager for the full redevelopment of the historic St. Mary’s Elementary School campus, working alongside the developer, architecture teams, engineers, the building department, the general contractor, and all subcontractors and vendors to deliver the project from start to finish.
Originally built between 1936 and 1945, the former school will be transformed into a modern housing community designed specifically for healthcare employees of the nearby hospital and essential workers such as teachers and police officers. Four existing buildings will be reconstructed into high‑quality, affordable residences totaling 44 apartments. A future phase will introduce a new ground‑up building with an additional 48 units, expanding the campus into a vibrant multi‑building community.
Long‑term plans also include the potential addition of a daycare center and recreational facilities, supporting a complete, service‑oriented environment. The goal is to create a thriving, dignified living community that provides exceptional quality for some of the region’s most vital workforce members.
